Young Transport Professionals Committee 2020-2021

All activities are planned and executed by a voluntary committee. The Committee is voted in once per year by the membership base, with elections confirmed at the AGM in August.

All members are encouraged to get involved and run for a Committee position. Please note that only members can take up Committee positions.

The below committee is the sixth elected since the group was founded in 2014.

Anita Rai – President

Anita works as a Data Analytics Engineer at Siemens Mobility, where she has had the opportunity to work on a variety of projects for both road and rail. She is the proud mother to a 6 year old cat named Antonia John Susuwatari Howard Banditos.

Adnan Alam – Treasurer

Adnan is an Electrical Design Engineer at Metro Trains Melbourne where he is reponsible for designing the HV traction power system for the metropolitan rail network. He has previously worked extensively on various infrastructure and rolling stock projects within MTM. Out of office hours, Adnan can be frequently found dancing salsa and, very un-Australian like, discussing F1 and football.

Michael Greenwood – Communications Coordinator

Michael is currently the Digital Engagement Coordinator at ARTC, working on the Inland Rail project. He supports the wider Marketing & Communications team in helping to develop an array of online tools for use across the program. With over 10 years’ experience, Michael is keen to learn more about the Australian transportation industry. Outside of work, Michael enjoys travelling, watching films and following all of the Toronto sports teams.

Russell Oliver – Digital Coordinator

Russell is currently an Integration Engineer with MTM and Rail Systems Alliance. RSA is delivering High Capacity Signalling to the Metro Tunnel Project. Previously he has been at RPV and RIA. Outside of work, he is a recreational pilot, motorcycle rider and the occasional sailor.

Andrew Chan – Membership Coordinator

Andrew is a Development Engineer in the Product Lifecycle Management team at Siemens Mobility, working on railway signalling technologies such as axle counters, interlockings and point machines. Andrew started his transport career as a cadet with Sydney Trains before making the move down to Melbourne to complete the Siemens graduate program. Outside of work, he can be found shooting some pool at the local pool hall.

Jun Wing Tang – Member Engagement Coordinator

Jun is a Technical Graduate at the Department of Transport, formerly VicRoads. In his role, Jun has had the opportunity to be involved in a multitude of projects revolving around the road space, with Major Road Projects Victoria and Regional Roads Victoria. Beyond the office desk, Jun can be found hiking and at the gym.

Caroline Lieu – Events Coordinator

Caroline is a 2nd year graduate engineer at Metro Trains Melbourne. During her time on the graduate program, she has worked alongside the Siemens Fleet Technical team and the Rolling Stock Design team at Metro Tunnel Rail System Alliance. When not at work, Caroline enjoys holidaying internationally, trying new and exciting cuisines, and is always looking for an excuse to play a board game with friends.

Edward Wright – Events Coordinator

Edward is a 2020 Commercial Graduate at the Level Crossing Removal Project as part of the Victorian State Government’s Big Build program. As part of the commercial team, Edward has worked on a variety of internal and external projects across LXRP. Outside of work, Edward holds a 4th Dan black belt in taekwondo and he loves to travel.
