Young Transport Professionals Committee 2024

All activities are planned and executed by a committee of passionate volunteers who work in the industry. The Committee is voted in once per year by the membership base, with elections confirmed at the AGM in the second part of the year.

The below committee is the ninth elected since the group was founded in 2014.

 

Malcolm Lam – PRESIDENT
 
Malcolm currently works in the Disruptions Sector at Metro Trains, working with a team in providing efficient transport to passengers, in a disrupted environment. He is currently working on planned disruptions, to allow clients such as Metro Tunnel & Franchise projects to commence their project works. Outside of work, he is an avid train geek, with a wide collection of Model Trains. His passions are also in travel & doing a monthly volunteering commitment to serve the wider community.

 

 

 

 

Ravina Kamble – Secretary 

Ravina is a Signal Design Engineer currently working with Kellogg Brown & Root (KBR) with 4 year of experience in the Rail Signalling Industry. She started her career as a Signalling Graduate Intern in 2019 after Post-graduating in Engineering (Area of Specialisation : Power Systems). Her role involves designing & implementing the project technical scope requirements into compliant designs. She also has successfully carried out multiple roles in-parallel in the Design coordination & management discipline and continues to succeed in them. Ravina has gained design and support experience along with competencies across multiple Accredited Rail Organizations (ARO’s) such as MTM, ARTC & V/Line. She is also supporting the Conventional Signalling Design Packages under More Trains More Services (MTMS3A ) project in NSW. 

Outside the work routine, Cooking, Camping, Nature walks, Playing traditional Indian drums and Pilates are few of her passions.

 

Antony Yu - Treasurer

Antony Yu – Treasurer

Antony is a Senior Consultant at ConnellGriffin and has worked on a range of advisory roles in various transport infrastructure projects throughout the state of Victoria and New South Wales. He has been engaged as a transaction advisor in his recent projects and is currently helping the Department of Transport procure their next gen public transport ticketing solution. During his free time Ant is usually training for his next half marathon or combing through the restaurants and cafes that Melbourne has to offer.

 

 

 

 

Zoe Thompson – Communications Coordinator

Zoe is a Communications Advisor at Metro Trains Melbourne on the Metro Tunnel Project. She is responsible for providing support in the development of communications activities in preparation for the opening of the Metro Tunnel. Outside of work, Zoe is often found catching flights, drinking coffee, reading and hanging out with mates. 

 

 

 

 

 

Adam Iacobaccio- Communications CoordinatoR

Adam is a Structural Engineer in the Transport Sector at Mott MacDonald, Melbourne. His early career experience has involved working on the Suburban Rail Loop Project within the Aurecon Jacobs Mott MacDonald (AJM) Joint Venture. Adam has a passion for digital engineering and transformation, functioning as the Early Career Lead for Mott MacDonalds Digital Delivery Practice in Australia by helping develop and enable the business’ digital capabilities. Outside of work, he enjoys reading philosophy and fiction, drawing, and hiking. 

 

 

 

 

Daniel Jordan - Digital Coordinator

Daniel Jordan – Digital Coordinator

As a project manager in the transport industry, Daniel has worked on Australia’s largest infrastructure projects including Sydney Metro, Melbourne Metro Tunnel, Sydney Harbour Bridge Cycleway, Sydney Trains’ Transport Accessibility Program, and the Victorian Level Crossing Removals. With experience in rail, road, active transport and integrated precincts, Daniel has transformed cities through transport and development.

Daniel is currently based in Sydney, Australia and works for Transport for NSW.

 

 

 

 

Andy MaAndy Ma – Partnership Coordinator

Andy is a Consultant at Agonis Group who has a variety of experience in the transport industry. He has previously worked in major road projects and is now working in delivering rail infrastructure projects. As well as a background mostly working in project delivery, he has always had a keen interest in professional development, particularly as a young professional; he has done a graduate rotation in recruitment & development. In the off hours, Andy can be found running around in circles of varying distances, slides down snow on two sticks and a casual enjoyer of aged grape juice.

 

 

 

 

Angus Craig – Partnership Coordinator

Angus is a Rail Overhead Wiring engineer at Jacobs who, over the last 2.5 years, has mainly worked on overhead wiring design packages, including the Union Rd/Mont Albert Rd and Coolstore Rd level crossing removal projects In Melbourne and the Penn Station Access project in the United States. In his spare time Angus loves running, reading up on local rail history and spending far too much money on coffee.

 

 

 

 

 

Sabastian Aurisano - Secretary

Sabastian Aurisano – Membership Engagement Coordinator

Sabastian is a Systems Engineer at John Holland. He currently is working on the development of John Holland’s Knowledge Management System. 

He has worked at John Holland since January 2019. He has worked in various roles across the Metro Tunnel, two Level Crossing Removal Projects, rail plant & road-rail vehicle certification. He has done requirements management, cost estimating, construction planning, design management and more. 

Besides his job: Sabastian likes walking, he does boxing, he plays video games, he is an active volunteer and he is interested in a lot of things: including but not limited to public transport, buses, boats, spacecraft planes, trains and automobiles and much more. 

 
 
 

 

Ting ChangTing Chang – Membership Engagement Coordinator

Ting is currently an Operational Performance Analyst at Yarra Trams, focusing on monitoring punctuality, reliability, and safety. Her role involves in-depth statistical analysis to address challenges related to tram punctuality. Outside of work, she enjoys watching movies and is dedicated to learning Japanese.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Alan LimALAN LIM – Events & Engagement Lead

Alan is a Mechanical Systems Engineer at Metro Trains Melbourne for the X’Trapolis 2.0 project. This role is responsible for providing design review activities for mechanical systems such as Saloon Interior, Driver Cab, Doors, Brakes, HVAC and many more to ensure compatibility with the Melbourne Rail Network.
 
Outside of work, Alan enjoys practicing Judo, following endurance motorsports and discussing all things motorsports and railway technology.

 

 

 

 

Asraf Dawood - Membership Engagement Coordinator

Ashraf Dawood – Events Coordinator

Ashraf is a Mechatronics Engineer working as an engineering consultant at ADA Engineering, and supports rolling stock projects for various freight and passenger rail operators in Australia. You can catch him wandering around in the city hunting down bakeries, travelling, or playing some sports. 

 

 

 

 

 

Jennifer Meers – Events Coordinator
Jenn is a Policy Officer with Freight Victoria at the Department of Transport and Planning. Working in heavy vehicle network access, she works collaboratively with stakeholders across industry, government and community groups to provide a safe and sustainable freight transport system for Victoria. Outside of work, Jenn enjoys hiking, camping and exploring the outdoors.   

 

 

 

 

 

Martin Hughes – Events Coordinator
Martin Hughes is an Engineer with a strong passion for the Railways. He has been working on rail projects across Australia for the last 3 year including Sydney Metro West, Melbourne High Capacity Metro Trains, the New Metro Tunnel and the Suburban Rail Loop. This happy Canadian enjoys exploring the Australian country side and outside of work can be found volunteering at the Puffing Billy Railway!
