Young Transport Professionals Committee 2021-2022
All activities are planned and executed by a voluntary committee. The Committee is voted in once per year by the membership base, with elections confirmed at the AGM in August.
All members are encouraged to get involved and run for a Committee position. Please note that only members can take up Committee positions.
The below committee is the seventh elected since the group was founded in 2014.
ANTHONY KO – PRESIDENT
Anthony is currently a Systems Engineer at John Holland, working on the Rail Infrastructure Alliance to deliver the Metro Tunnel and Sunbury Line Upgrade. His day to day role involves management of requirements, verification and validation evidence, and interfaces, as well as the assurance of Human Factors issues through design. Anthony is passionate about connecting leaders and young professionals together across the industry to help collaborate in solving industry wide problems. Outside of work, Anthony is a keen fan of sports and enjoys travelling interstate and abroad.
TUSHAR SUNDARAM SEN – TREASURER
Tushar is currently a Cost Manager with Turner & Townsend. He has been working as an estimator on Melbourne Airport Rail for RPV – Specialising on Stations, Structures and Utilities for the past 2 years. Tushar has gained valuable experience working across multiple rail, road and tunnelling projects in different roles. Outside of work, Tushar enjoys cooking his Granny inspired curries, creating travel content for his YouTube channel and chasing the best baristas Melbourne has to offer. Tushar also enjoys running along the Yarra river, so feel free to join him!
KAREN APOSTOL – SECRETARY
Karen works as a Senior Events Officer for Passenger Experience Delivery at Yarra Trams. Her role involves making sure YT delivers its Franchise commitments in relation to passenger information, particularly for occupations and special events. When she’s not busy planning for a disruption on the tram network, she enjoys biking and hunting for the best friend chicken in town.
ALAN LIM – PARTNERSHIPS COORDINATOR
Alan is a Consultant in Railways at Advising. In this role he has had the opportunity to work on various projects in freight and passenger transportation, as well projects related to dynamic performance, rolling stock retrofit programs, transportation technology road mapping and finite element analysis. Outside of work, Alan enjoys practising Judo and discussing motorsports technology and racing.
MICHAEL GREENWOOD – DIGITAL & COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR
Michael is currently the Internal Communications Advisor at ARTC, working on the Inland Rail project. He supports the wider Marketing & Communications team in helping to develop an array of online tools for use across the program. With over 10 years’ experience, Michael is keen to learn more about the Australian transportation industry. Outside of work, Michael enjoys travelling, watching films and following all of the Toronto sports teams.
CAITLIN SKINNER – EVENTS COORDINATOR
Caitlin is a Rail Engineer in the Track and Civil team at AECOM, where she is delivering packages on major rail projects across Victoria. Through working on the Rail Infrastructure Alliance and the Warrnambool Line Upgrade (to name a couple), she has gained experience in track design and the associated civil infrastructure, as well as cable containment design. Outside of office hours, Caitlin is training for a half marathon and fuelling up on croissants.
