Young Transport Professionals Committee 2023

All activities are planned and executed by a voluntary committee. The Committee is voted in once per year by the membership base, with elections confirmed at the AGM in the second part of the year.

All members are encouraged to get involved and run for a Committee position. Please note that only members can take up Committee positions.

The below committee is the eighth elected since the group was founded in 2014.


Himanshu Chopra - President 2023

Himanshu Chopra – PRESIDENT

Himanshu is a Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Consultant specialises in transport industry. His day-to-day role involves working with high profile clients advising on stakeholder relations. Himanshu has over 14 years of experience working in the transport industry in New Zealand. When he is not busy networking with potential stakeholders, he likes to go walking or playing in the park with his kids.

 

 

 

 

Sabastian Aurisano - Secretary

Sabastian Aurisano – Secretary

Sabastian is a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering. He has worked at John Holland for nearly 4 years. Joining as a Graduate in 2019, he has worked on the Metro Tunnel, Level Crossing Removals and with railway plant. 
He currently works as the Knowledge Systems Engineer, helping to facilitate the spread of knowledge and innovation across John Holland.
Sabastian has advocated for better bus services in Melbourne’s underserved western suburbs.
In his free time, Sabastian likes walking, jogging, boxing, playing his keyboard and playing video games

 

 

 

 

Antony Yu - Treasurer

Antony Yu – Treasurer

Antony is a Senior Consultant at ConnellGriffin and has worked on a range of advisory roles in various transport infrastructure projects throughout the state of Victoria and New South Wales. He has been engaged as a transaction advisor in his recent projects and is currently helping the Department of Transport procure their next gen public transport ticketing solution. During his free time Ant is usually training for his next half marathon or combing through the restaurants and cafes that Melbourne has to offer.

Victoria is a Senior Geotechnical Engineer at Arup with 8 years’ experience. Having worked in Perth, Sydney and Melbourne, she has worked in both Rail and Road on site investigations, foundation design and providing inputs to a multidiscplinary team. Victoria is passionate about mentoring emerging engineers. In 2022, she was the FutureNet Victoria chair (networking and training organisation under Consult Australia for emerging consultants) While not at work, she likes to sing, watch spooky movies and eat dim sum.
 

 

 

 

Daniel Jordan - Digital CoordinatorDaniel Jordan – Digital Coordinator
As a project manager in the transport industry, Daniel has worked on Australia’s largest infrastructure projects including Sydney Metro, Melbourne Metro Tunnel, Sydney Harbour Bridge Cycleway and the Victorian Level Crossing Removals. With experience in rail, road, active transport and integrated precincts, Daniel has transformed cities through transport and development.
 
Daniel is currently based in Sydney, Australia.
 

 

 

 

Alan LimALAN LIM – PARTNERSHIPS COORDINATOR

Alan is a Mechanical Systems Engineer at Metro Trains Melbourne for the X’Trapolis 2.0 project. This role is responsible for providing design review activities for mechanical systems such as Saloon Interior, Driver Cab, Doors, Brakes, HVAC and many more to ensure compatibility with the Melbourne Rail Network.
 
Outside of work, Alan enjoys practicing Judo, following endurance motorsports and discussing all things motorsports and railway technology.

 

 

 

Malcolm Lam - Partnership Coordinator

Malcolm Lam – Partnerships Coordinator

Malcolm currently works in the Disruptions Sector at Metro Trains, working with a team in providing efficient transport to passengers, in a disrupted environment. He is currently working on planned disruptions, to allow clients such as Metro Tunnel & Franchise projects to commence their project works. Outside of work, he is an avid train geek, with a wide collection of Model Trains. His passions are also in travel & doing a monthly volunteering commitment to serve the wider community.
 
 
 
 
 

 

Adrian Wong - Membership coordinator

Adrian Wong – Membership coordinator

Adrian currently works in the rail simulation and modelling area at Transport for NSW, supporting other NSW government stakeholders such as Sydney Trains and Sydney Metro. Prior to this, he has worked as an engineering consultant serving clients across various rail projects in Australia, USA and Canada. When he gets some free time to himself, he enjoys playing sports and exploring around for yummy food.

 

 

 

 

Asraf Dawood - Membership Engagement Coordinator

Ashraf Dawood – Membership Coordinator

Ashraf is an engineering consultant at ADA Engineering, and supports rolling stock projects involving mechanical/electrical systems in the freight rail and light rail space within the Australian rail industry. Outside of work, Ashraf likes playing soccer and volleyball, and also enjoys spending time cooking/baking.

 

 

 

 

Anthony Ko - Membership EngagementAnthony Ko – Member Engagement Coordinator

Anthony is currently a Systems Engineer at John Holland, working on the Rail Infrastructure Alliance to deliver the Metro Tunnel and Sunbury Line Upgrade. His day to day role involves management of requirements, verification and validation evidence, and interfaces, as well as the assurance of Human Factors issues through design. Anthony is passionate about connecting leaders and young professionals together across the industry to help collaborate in solving industry wide problems. Outside of work, Anthony is a keen fan of sports and enjoys travelling interstate and abroad.

 

 

 

CAITLIN SKINNER – EVENTS COORDINATOR

Caitlin is a Rail Engineer in the Track and Civil team at AECOM, where she is delivering packages on major rail projects across Victoria. Through working on the Rail Infrastructure Alliance and the Warrnambool Line Upgrade (to name a couple), she has gained experience in track design and the associated civil infrastructure, as well as cable containment design. Outside of office hours, Caitlin is training for a half marathon and fueling up on croissants.

 

 

 

 

Evelyn Tao - Events Coordinator

Evelyn Tao – Events Coordinator

Evelyn is currently a Project Officer at Department of Transport, working on Industry engagement to make sure our rolling stock projects build local capability and workforce development. She has also been supporting the High Capacity Metro Trains and Next Generation Trams projects technical team during the past two years on system engineering. Outside of work, she loves watching movies, making coffee, trying new restaurants and cafes.
